December 8 & 9, 2005
- Pahrump-a-bump-bump - Off we went in a Blue River Bus with our Muriel, Lady of Tours. She arranged a fine trip with the first stop at Sheri's - quite an education and a wonderful lunch. From there we went to the Saddle West Casino, where the Penny Machines and the tables welcomed us. Dinner was included as was the next morning's breakfast. After Breakfast we boarded the bus and headed for the Pahrump Winery - can you believe, a wine tour in the morning? But such a tour and tasting like we haven't had before. The bus listed to one side with the boxes of wine stowed below - and then we were off to our Goal - the Red Hat Christmas luncheon hosted by the Lois Hall and the Red Hats with Attitude in Pahrump. This was especially fun to go to since these ladies are such supporters of our Tri State Tea. On the way home we had a quick shopping trip - at Trader Joe's and were treated to the Christmas lights in the cactus garden at Ethel M's - of course a bit of chocolate helped us all. Thanks to all that came along and enjoyed the days and nights. We have two pages of photos for your enjoyment here!

September 24, 2005 - Andy Devine Parade - . We Red Hatters were blessed with a double delight today. Purple Prose members and their guests enjoyed watching the Annual Kingman parade from an advantage spot on Beale Street and picked out by Queen Mum Joan - Great Location!!.   We know that more people learned about the fun we Red Hatters have by being The Audience rather than on a float We had the opportunity to shout and wave to our favorite groups as they paraded by.

The Govenor's Reception - following the Parade several of us enjoyed a light lunch at The Brunswick where we met with the Governor, and indoctrinated both Governor Janet Napolitano and Mayor Monica Gates into our chapter as Honorary members. Queen Joan spoke to the Governor and then Kate, Lady de Luna, presented her with a Red Hat and Membership Badge - and then Beverly, The Baroness of the Bazaar, presented Mayor Gates with the same honor. How delighted we are to have them both as "members" of the Purple Prose!

September 21, 2005 - Afternoon "T" - a monthly event in a lovely setting. Girard delighted us with a welcome to all on the new Mic he purchased and his staff served a great Chocalate Mouse with hot tea from unusual teapots at each table. Queen Mum told us how Wun-der-ful we looked - which of course we did - and welcomed all the new ladies. Lady Jodie was so busy passing out membrship applications /renewal forms that she escaped the camera's eye. Another ESTEEMED Lady was welcomed to her LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP. Announcements were made about upcoming events and especially the planned trip to Pahrump!
Final Tri State Tea preperations were shared by the Baroness and we Can't Wait for the
Lights to shine, the Cameras to roll and the ACTION to begin!.

The evening was capped off by trying our luck at the Spa Casino - well some of us found that luck - hooray! On Friday it was a treat to sit at Sherman's sidewalk cafe for breakfast before heading up Mt. San Jacinto in the Palm Springs Tram. Just look at us in this group photo! While the wind blew and the rains came down 150 lovely ladies and many of their Duke's enjoyed a lovely afternoon. Enjoyable music was provided by "our very own" singing DJ, Jamie. Marching to the beat was inspirational when Rodger got up and "did his stuff" - The pretty Pink Hatters passed out the musical instruments and amazingly, everyone played in tune. Food, Door Prizes, Treasure Chest awards - all great and most of all we had a Happy Holiday party and the New Year is going to be great for Red Hatting.
