Arlene, Empress of the Evening
and Kate, our newest Lady in Waiting were the banner carriers along
with Dori, Lady of Dragonlore. The
theme of the Parade was "American Innocense (sp)on the Mother Road".
Kingman is at the Heart of Route 66, aka The Mother Road, it seemed just
right to have this special slogan today for the Purple Prose!

Many months ago Jean, Lady
of Choice and Joyce, Lady o' Lakes said they wanted to be in
the Andy Devine Parade. Thank you ladies for the courage and encouragement
to go for the gusto and enter into the parade! We understand you started
decorating at 6:30 AM and saved us all those great parking places next
to the green green grass. Thanks!!

Queen Mum Joan looks over a bevy
of beatuies awiting the start of the parade. Molly, Lady Rubs-U-Right,
had other duties today, but she came over to offer her massage services
to an ailing Purple Prose lady. Isn't this the True Red Hat spirit?

Jean, Georgia, a special Friend
and float driver, Joyce, Velma and Georgia. These ladies are a great team
and plan many events together and are full of good tips for fun events.

The Tea Party gang, Karen, Pauline
who supplied the music, Marty who supplied the float and driver, Beverly
who enjoyed the Tea on the float (ok, so it was only water!) and Jodi
who rounded up the Gunfighters.

Note, some keep on posing,
while others are at ease and relaxing while awaiting the start of the
parade.

Kate and Margaret were greeted
by Queen Mum Joan while Lady Jody and Pauline, Lady of Forgetfulness sat
and waited for the Tea to be served or the Parade to start, whichever
came first!

Here they are at the Tea Party
- complete with a living ficus and red candles in an antique Candelabra
loaned for the occasion by Joan, Lady of Antiquities and Grandma's Attic.
Note the Baroness sat at the little red table while Queen Mum held court
at the "great table" with the lace tablecloth.
